To many New Jerseyans, Point Pleasant Beach is the gateway to the Jersey Shore. And for good reason – there's so much to do.
Get going
Start your day bright and early with a hearty breakfast from The Food Shack (1000 Ocean Ave.), located along the boardwalk. The lobster omelet is one of the most popular breakfast dishes at the Shore, but for an extra helping of classic fare, grab a Beach House Classic: a pork roll, egg and cheese sandwich on raisin bread toast from Mueller's Bakery in Bay Head. Better yet, head to Mueller's and grab a crumb cake – it will likely be the best you've ever had.

A day of fun

Spend your day on the beach at Jenkinson's (300 Ocean Ave.), if you or your family want to break up the day with boardwalk activities like arcade games, rides and batting cages. Daily badges cost $3 for children and $11 for adults. But if you just want somewhere to relax, head to Bradshaw's Beach (1 Washington Ave.) to get away from the crowds. Daily badges cost $11.
After you're tanned to your heart's content, there's plenty to do along the boardwalk. Play a round of mini golf, enjoy happy hour at Martell's Tiki Bar (308-312 Boardwalk), or head to downtown Point Pleasant Beach and support some of the many locally owned businesses on Arnold Avenue.
Time to eat
For dinner, you've got options – like heaping plates of comfort food and cocktails at the speakeasy-reminiscent Amendment 21 (521 Arnold Ave.). Or head out toward the Manasquan Inlet and enjoy fresh, locally caught seafood at Atlantic Offshore Fishery (212 Channel Drive): steamers, oysters, lobster, fish tacos, you name it. And for fine dining, make reservations at Charlie's of Bay Head (72 Bridge Ave.).
